Tenant and Landlord Forums for Fair Housing Month

There is still much work to be done to ensure that all Vermonters have access to safe, inclusive, and affordable housing. Join the Fair Housing Project of CVOEO and our partners at Vermont Legal Aid, CEDO, Vermont Landlords Association, Janet S. Munt Family Room, and Old North End Community Center for these engaging opportunities to learn more about tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities.

April is National Fair Housing Month to celebrate the passage of the Fair Housing Act in 1968. Federal law prohibits housing discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, family status, and disability. Vermont’s fair housing law includes additional protections on the basis of marital status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, and receipt of public assistance. See the full schedule of Fair Housing Month activities – including family-friendly art activities – at www.thrivingcommunitiesvt.org/fair-housing-month
