Get Involved!

Thriving Communities is a statewide campaign of the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) Fair Housing Project in collaboration with housing, planning, and government groups. The campaign raises awareness about the economic and social benefits of affordable, inclusive housing through education, outreach, and online resources.

As the Thriving Communities campaign evolves, we will be inviting organizations and individuals to join us in pledging to promote affordability and inclusiveness as a mainstay of flourishing communities. You can see the current Thriving Communities Steering Committee partners here. Stay tuned for more information about how YOU can join us. The Fair Housing Project is part of Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity’s Coordinated Statewide Housing Services (along with the Mobile Home Program and Vermont Tenants). We strive to protect and expand the fair housing legal rights of people traditionally subjected to housing discrimination and exclusion. As part of that mission, we work to assure that the state and municipalities are actively Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing so as to expand inclusiveness of housing opportunities in Vermont.

To support this important social justice work, go to https://cvoeo.networkforgood.com/ and select “Fair Housing Project” from the special purpose drop-down menu.

Thank you!

The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1965 to carry out the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 in Vermont’s Northwest Counties of Addison, Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle. It is one of five Community Action Agencies in Vermont. CVOEO addresses fundamental issues of economic, social, and racial justice and works with people to achieve economic independence.

CVOEO’s programs, services, and advocacy, bridge gaps and build futures. That is, we provide individuals and families with the basic needs of food, fuel and housing support in times of crisis, and we help them acquire the necessary education, financial skills and assets to build a stable future in which they thrive.
